Saving Grace by Charlie Meyers (St. Louis, MO)
Synopsis: Jordana is a young widow mourning her wife Grace, a funny, handy butch and the lifeblood of their friend group. She has retreated to a depression den, a Room of Broken Things, where she builds a digital version of Grace in a video game. She weaves through beautiful memories and dangerous, ancient truths on a journey through her pain. Directed by Ryan Hung and Dramaturgy by Robert Maesaka.

American Spirit/America Spiral by Maiya Corral (Chicago, IL)
Synopsis: Juniper has returned home to investigate the mysterious circumstances of her tia’s death, an act which unearths a flood of family secrets, lies, betrayals and heartbreaks. American Spirits / American Spirals is a play about our interwoven stories, the dangers of colonial conditioning and falling in love. Directed by Adam Flores and Dramaturgy by Courtney Bailey.

Synopsis: After arriving late for a museum field trip, Shemar is trapped in an experimental hall known as The Black Paradox. With no other option, he must soldier through the exhibits to escape…and maybe learn a thing or two. Directed by Carl Overly Jr. and Dramaturgy by Chauncy Thomas.

Charlie Meyers (St. Louis, MO) is a playwright, theater maker, and stand-up comedian, as well as the Community and Strategy Lead at MaTovu, an inclusive Jewish neighborhood organization. He received an MFA in Playwriting from the University of Iowa, and is currently pursuing an MA in Theater and Performance Studies from Washington University. He majored in Theater and Jewish Studies at Smith College and has passionately pursued both paths. Prior productions include Dust and Ash, Dreams I Have About Killing My Sister, and multiple short pieces for The Q Collective, a queer theater company in St. Louis. His work explores love, death, identity, poetry, and interconnectedness.

Maiya A. Corral (she/her) is a storyteller & theatermaker from the West Coast. She has many homes and her ancestors come from many places. Currently, Maiya is nesting on land stewarded by the Council of Three Fires, otherwise known as Chicago. Mixed race, Mexican & queer, her writing explores the subterranean realms of consciousness and belonging. Her stories are rooted in complexity; tender, joyful, rage-filled, mythic and mysterious.
Her work has been developed with the neighborhood theater chicago, Definition Theater, St. Louis Shakespeare Company, Refracted Theater Co, The University of Idaho and Florida International University. Her work as a writer and director has also been recognized and developed at The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in Washington DC.
